I am a mixed-media Artist focusing on digital art, film photography and interaction design. Currently focused on Service and Innovation Design, and growing the In Plain Sight Service Project. A defining fact about me, and one of the only constants in my life, is that my vision glitches. Colours pop by in flashes, things distort and look bizarre if I stare at them for long enough. Sometimes these bizarre but fleeting concoctions of colours, distortions and shimmers makes such an impression, that I must immediately put them to work.

Narrative figuration, figurative painting and pop art opened the path for me to explore different potential styles of art that I could adapt to myself. Fascinated by music, color and how old photographs could be reused and reworked as further pieces, I've explored figurative work through the lens of my old photographs, an ode to art that was captured in the moment but heavily scrutinized and reworked later. My own synaesthesia provided a basis for all the colours seen through this style and gave me my own interpretation of how the moments should've looked.

EDUCATION

2023 Design and Artist Resident in Interactive Art @ School of Machines, Making and Make Believe in Berlin.

This was a 2-month long, intensive residency that allowed me to take a hands-on approach to working with electronic components, sensors, motors, and power supplies as well as with Bela for interactive audio, Raspberry pi, and Arduino microcontrollers to play and to create magical things that bring ideas to life through interactivity. The residency equipped me with the technical expertise and confidence to continue working on my own interaction design projects long after the program has ended. The residency’s goal was to use physical computing, interactivity, materials and fabrication, to create a series of interactive public artworks by programs end and activate public spaces. Beyond the Surface: An Artistic Quest, is the culmination of a learning experience at the School of Machines, Making & Make Believe this summer. Throughout this experience I learned to work with different boards (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Bela.io), as well as many sensors (capacitive touch sensors, ultrasonic distance sensors, light dependant resistors) and actuators (LEDs, RGB LEDs, servo motors). All of which culminated in this work shown outdoors in public space in Berlin during 'Inside Outside: Interactive Artwork in Public Space', in July 2023. Read more about it here.

2023 MA Design: Expanded Practice in Innovation and Service Design @ Goldsmiths, University of London

- Goldsmiths, Gold Award
- Distinction
- Awarded exemplary contribution for In Plain Sight as my Master's Thesis:

In Plain Sight is a service designed for my Masters Thesis, for a mission to build social inclusion in the mainstream arts and cultural sector. The service is designed to build social inclusion into the mainstream arts and cultural sector, and support creatives interested in a career in the arts. The service engages new audiences with the viewpoints of marginalised artists and creates a sustainable, collaborative safe space for artistic expression and experimentation through the use of a growing platform, online gallery and scavenger hunts.
